FRIDAY APRIL 2nd- Youth Team Poetry Finals AND TAALAM ACEY!

This is the second day of our biggest week of the year!

Friday April 2nd, at the FAIR TRADE CAFE 1020 N 1st Ave:
- the doors open at 7:30
-LIVE MUSIC courtesy of DJ CATALYST all night long
- brief featured mic from some incredible poets
- one of the most popular, most amazing, talented poets you will ever meet...TAALAM ACEY will be live and in concert!

Preparing to make history, youth ages 14-19 will compete against one another this Friday evening for a shot at making the 2010 Phoenix BRAVE NEW VOICES POETRY TEAM!
This youth team will represent the valley metro area at the 2010 Brave New Voices Poetry Competition, in Los Angeles, California!
This evening is special because our goal and expectation for the show is to raise the $1000.00 registration fee the youth must pay IN APRIL in order to go to the event. That dollar amount will house them, feed them, cover their registration, enroll them in all the events competitions, workshops, and seminars for the week. Then we hope to surpass that goal in order to cover the travel expenses for the kids.

Public speaking is one of the biggest fears of all humans, and in teens it has been shown that increased confidence in public speaking and expression via poetry raises grades, self esteem, decreases violence, drug use...and alot more.

So pick your reason to come- DJ CATALYST, TAALAM ACEY, or The Brave New Voices Finals- ALL PROCEEDS from the door will go towards the youth team!

The cost for this show on this night is
$10.00 regular admission
$5.00 students
